Design will appear on the City of Columbia’s 2019 Mayor’s Campaign Against Breast Cancer t-shirts.

Design Guidlelines
  • Your design should be inspired by the fight for a cure against breast cancer.
  • Your design must be original. By submitting your design, you are pledging that you own the rights to the entire design and no part is copyrighted.
  • You may submit up to two separate design entries.
  • You may submit one Columbia-Richland Fire Rescue and one Columbia Police Department design, however; you can only be selected as the winner for one t-shirt.
  • Your submission should consist of two parts;
    • the main design which will appear on the back of the shirt and
    • a smaller design that will serve as a breast cancer campaign logo for the Columbia-Richland Fire Rescue (CRFR) or Columbia Police Department (CPD) visible on the front.
Design Specifications
  • Design submissions may be hand-drawn, pdf or image files (jpg, tiff, png, ai, eps) at 300 dpi.
  • The design must contain the pink breast cancer ribbon.
  • Columbia-Richland Fire Rescue design must contain “CRFR” or the Columbia Fire logo.
  • Columbia Police design must contain the Columbia Police logo. It may also contain “CPD”.
  • Official Columbia Fire and Columbia Police logos can be downloaded at http://gate.columbiasc.gov/BCtshirtcontest/downloads.cfm. Official logos may not be altered in any way.
  • The main design should be no larger than 14” by 17”.
  • The smaller design should be no larger than 3.5” x 3.5”.
  • There will be two shirt color options, pink or navy blue. Please consider this in your design.
  • Designs should contain no more than two colors for both the front and back of the shirt.
Submission Guidlelines and Agreement
  • Contest begins on Monday, July 1, 2019.
  • Electronic entries can be submitted online at http://gate.columbiasc.gov/BCtshirtcontest/entryform.cfm.
  • Hand-drawn entries can be mailed to One Columbia, 1219 Taylor Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
  • All entries must be accompanied by your name and contact information.
  • All entries must be submitted by Wednesday, July 31, 2019.
  • Entry registration forms can be downloaded at http://gate.columbiasc.gov/BCtshirtcontest/pdfs/entryform.pdf.
  • Individuals under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian submit a design on their behalf.
  • The winning designers may display their entries as part of a portfolio but may not sell, share or reproduce the design for any other purpose once submitted.
  • The City of Columbia will have printing rights to the winning designs. By submitting a design, you agree that it can be used on the Columbia-Richland Fire Rescue or Columbia Police Department t-shirt for the fight against breast cancer and other promotional items such as the City of Columbia, Columbia-Richland Fire Rescue and/or Columbia Police Department website and social media, campaign marketing and public relations materials.
  • The City of Columbia reserves the right to make adjustments or alterations to the winning entries to ensure that the reproduction of the image is of the best quality.
Selection Process
  • Entries will be judged by a panel of City of Columbia, Columbia-Richland Fire Rescue and Columbia Police Department staff. The panel will narrow down the selection to three finalists per design category, Columbia-Richland Fire Rescue and Columbia Police Department.
  • Online community voting begins on Thursday, August 9, 2019 at 9:00 am.
  • Community voting ends on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 5:00 pm.
  • The winners will be notified by email using the information provided on the winning entries’ registration forms.
  • The winners and designs will be recognized on the City of Columbia’s website and social media as well as the annual Mayor’s Campaign Against Breast Cancer Isabel Law Breakfast.
